MY 28 DAY WOMB DETOX EXPERIENCE

MY 28 Day WOMB DETOX EXPERIENCE

Greetings Lovelies!

I have recently ended my womb detox, early. Tisk, tisk, tisk; I know, I know. This blog gets sort of lengthy so skip around if you feel the need; I just wanted to document as much information as I could to help anyone who is looking for it!  I will always be transparent with you so let me explain what factors contributed to me currently sitting here drinking iced coffee, yuck!

Although no iced coffee is complete without an unnecessary amount of cream and sugar, I have read on multiple occasions about how dairy is a, if not thee, main influence on women’s reproductive issues. As much as I would like to continue lying to myself by saying small quantities of dairy here and there won’t affect me overall (especially since I no longer consume meat products), I know that I’m being deceitful and I must end my beloved relationship with sour cream and milkshakes. Isn’t that ironic as I attempt to inform you on how to cleanse and heal your womb. When you know better, you do better, however, I AM human so I’m building myself up towards it every day.

Grant yourself patience and don’t beat yourself up about altering habits that you’ve accumulated your whole life, overnight.

On January 31st around 7:00pm, is when I decided to commit to this detox that was to begin on February 1st. *blank stare* Let’s just say this isn’t the type of commitment you want to make before you’ve 1. Mentally prepared, 2. Physically prepared, and 3. Financially prepared. I had enough fruit and vegetables randomly in my refrigerator to make at least 2 juices so I decided to prepare my Day 1 breakfast & lunch juices with that, and to run out the following afternoon to get the rest of the fruit and vegetables I would need for the week. Keep in mind that I do “alkaline water/herbal tea only” fasts all the time so I figured jumping into this detox last minute would not pose a problem for me. I went to bed early realizing I had to be up no later than 6:00am to meditate, as this was step 1 of the detox.

*Groans in “I’m not a morning person”*

Day 1- I woke up at 6:00am, I meditated with focus on my sacral chakra (womb), my body lead me to fall asleep during my meditation, where I dreamt about a lot of water and pregnancy (signs of the sacral chakra); I guess my meditation got right to the point! I woke back up feeling well rested, at ease and full of joy. Since I fell back asleep, that cut into the time I had to get ready for work, so I missed my “pre-breakfast flush.” I also completed no exercise or pyramid leg lifts on this day. I finished my breakfast juice, and then drank a 36oz mason jar full of herbal tea I prepared (see original blog for ingredients,) and followed that with my lunch juice. I felt energized, my body felt good and I could actually feel the juice making a difference. After work I went to the grocery store to get everything I needed for at least a week of juices (3 juices a day). The total for approximately 5 days of juices cost me around $60. I surely was not prepared for that. I bought a mixture of organic and non-organic fruits &veggies, so that contributed as well. As I made my dinner juice and the 3 juices I needed for the next day, I realized that I had a minor headache and I was exhausted. This is typical for the first day/night of any fast so I wasn’t concerned. I wrote in my journal shortly since there wasn’t much to report, checked in with Ashley to see how she was feeling on Day 1, and then went to bed fairly early without meditating.

Let me make a quick note of the steps I did NOT complete at all during my detox:

1.    I did not apply any of the clay packs or drink the clay tonic, simply because I did not have any.

2.    I did not do the enemas; instead I relied only on Senna leaf tea as my natural herbal laxative.

3.    I did not consume the solid fruit/veggie meals at all for the first 7 days. Juice, tea and water only.

4.    I am extremely picky about what kinds of bathtubs I’ll take an actual bath in, I’ve been weird like that since I was a kid, so I did not take the full body baths at all. I am sure this contributes so much to the detox and I will plan appropriately when I do this detox again

Day 2- I woke up without a headache, and remembered I needed to weigh myself to document my “before weight,” 148.3. I woke up a little later than expected so I did a quick meditation and then did my pre-breakfast flush with key-lime water and some olive leaf extract. I could write a novel on how disgusting that stuff is OH MY GAWD, however, I’ll spare you. It’s great for you. I finished all of my juices and 2 mason jars of tea. One was Senna leaf tea, the other was the herbal mix I had on day 1. I used the bathroom on this day, and it ended up being the only day I was actually able to. This is something I noted for the next time I detox; the laxatives are essential. I also did some yoga and the leg pyramid. I wrote in my journal more in depth than on Day 1 and then prepped my juices for the next day, meditated and went to bed.

Day 3- I woke up feeling happy, energized, healthy, and with no cravings, at first. My morning weight was 145.2 (you always want to weigh yourself first thing in the morning.) Finished my 3 juices for the day, as well as one jar of herbal tea, checked in with Ashley and started reminiscing on all the food we wished we could have. Including food, we didn’t even eat on a regular basis. I haven’t had red meat in over 5 years but I was craving a cheeseburger, strange, and it grossed me out. This was more than likely an effect of toxins leaving my body. I wasn’t physically hungry I just wanted food because I knew it was going to taste good. I continued to torture myself the rest of the evening by thinking about all the food I wanted to cook when my detox was over; I highly recommend you DO NOT do this. It makes it worse and it’s pointless. The fact that my cycle had started probably contributed to the craving anguish. You start to appreciate even the most basic food. I would have been grateful for a piece of raw kale at that point, ANYTHING! This is a pretty dope lesson in itself though, and you start to realize how much we overindulge with food.

When you have nothing, you learn to appreciate how much of an impact even the smallest portion holds.

I prepped my juices for the next day, and did some yoga and the leg pyramid, but was completely bombarded with working on my website; this continued to be a trend for me the rest of the week. I was so exhausted, staying up super late working on the site, and I had no time to focus on the exercises I should have been doing. This is the kind of detox you need to have TIME for. I started to notice I did not actually have the time to commit to it as fully as I wished I could. This is something else I made note of for the next time I partake in this detox.

Day 4- I woke up in a good mood because I had a product shoot scheduled for the website and was looking forward to it! Ana and I ran out to a few stores to get whatever we needed to set up for the shoot and I ended up forgetting my breakfast juice on the counter. Seriously?  I was already starving, and long story short I didn’t end up drinking ANYTHING until like 4:00pm. The tiredness and headache started to creep in. I also noticed that my eczema on my arms had flared up really badly, and I recalled reading something that said a woman broke out with a rash on her face during her detox but not to worry, and not to stop. I also associated this with an effect of the toxins leaving my body. I ended up going to sleep without meditating, prepping any juices for day 5, drinking any tea, journaling, exercising OR finishing my 3 juices for that day; I was only able to finish 2. Dusty.

Day 5- Usually by day 4/5 you’re feeling amazing, a little grumpy because you want food, but you don’t NEED it and your body knows the difference. This was the case for me; I weighed myself and was down to 142.6. I was feeling a little nasty and mean, but my body felt great. I checked my arms to see if my eczema had gotten any worse; it was starting to look much better. I ran out briefly to grab a couple more fruits and veggies since I was running low. When I got back home I made 7 juices, 4 for the day and 3 for the next day. I had a bunch of product orders to fill so I was pretty much in the kitchen working all day. I drank 4 juices to make up for missing one the day prior, and had 2 jars of tea before yoga and journaling, then bed. By this time, I had missed a few days of pre-breakfast flushes and was re-evaluating how long I was going to be able to continue the detox. After looking at budget and time restrictions, and realizing that I had not mentally prepared like I should have to last 28 days, I decided I would finish out my 7 days and then re-configure my schedule. Starting on day 8 I decided I would do 1-2 juices per day (breakfast and lunch), and stay full off of tea and water throughout the day, then eat a small, healthy meal for dinner.

That was the plan. Sometimes plans are made to be broken.

Day 6- I woke up feeling like I could go without ever eating again, no exaggeration. I ran some errands, did some work for the site, finished all of my juices and 2 teas, and actually felt kind of bad that I was going to have to cut back to only 1-2 juices a day. I didn’t really want to; I was enjoying the benefits of the detox and was not ready to introduce my body back to food just yet. Again, I was unprepared and so at the time I knew I didn’t really have a choice. I dedicated the day to self-care and that really helped to make day 6 one of my peak days during the detox. I did a great guided meditation, used my Lavender Salt Scrub (found on the SHOP page), deep conditioned my hair, took my time moisturizing my body, journaled, listened to some calming music and read. I prepped some juices for day 7 and then ended up being forced into making guacamole. I had some avocados that were going bad and YOU DON’T WASTE AVOCADOS! This of course had me ready to drool on myself; I sadly put it in the refrigerator when I was done and began plotting on it for my day 7 dinner.

*creep stare*

Day 7- I woke up ready to eat some guacamole. I just laughed out loud because that sounds so greedy. I weighed in at 141.3, I was down 7 pounds. I knew I had a meeting right after work with the designer creating my product labels so I packed 3 juices and some tea. I checked in with Ashley, she decided she was going to keep going, she had snacked on a few mushrooms and a little kale towards the beginning of the detox but was back to juice only and felt confident about sticking it out for a while. I planned to make a light dinner but I ended up being at the meeting until 9:00pm. I was so tired by the time I got home that went straight to sleep. Figures. I actually still had enough juices to last me another day so my detox carried over to day 8.

Day 8- I woke up feeling great, my skin looked great, body was functioning at optimal levels. I knew I had dinner to look forward to so I grabbed some groceries while I was at work. I finished 2 juices and a jar of tea, then I had a small dinner of sautéed mushrooms & peppers, guacamole, and a tiny bit of rice (rice is probably not the best food to introduce at first). I would suggest fruit and steamed/lightly sautéed vegetables to re-introduce food and see how your stomach reacts. I would also suggest you eat slowly to allow your body to digest the food so you can monitor your fullness and refrain from overeating.

Day “No”- I continued to make juices with whatever fruit and vegetable combos I had left until I ran out. Some days I’ll do 1 juice, some days I’ll do 2. Detoxing will definitely clear your mind out along with your body so a few flaws and unhealthy patterns of mine were brought to my attention. I do need to find a healthy balance with food; I noticed that I tend to actually ENJOY going long periods of time without eating and then it is hard for me to control my cravings once I do begin eating again. I ate every single thing I craved for the next 3 days straight, and felt disgusting for it.

Counterproductive.

I am grateful, however, that it was brought to my attention. We take lessons and alchemize them, it’s how we grow, it’s kinda the whole point! I will be making a few juices tonight; I will only be consuming liquids during the day tomorrow, and I am going to try to finish out the rest of the month with one meal a day, dinner. Our bodies run slower when they have to process so many meals, hence why we get tired after we eat. In addition to the heavy food we consume, our body has to do a lot of work to digest all of those meals, back to back. One healthy meal a day, as long as you are still getting your necessary nutrients elsewhere throughout the day (i.e., tea, juices, smoothies, etc.) is ideal in order for our bodies to dedicate that energy elsewhere for mental clarity, peak physical energy, etc. This may seem difficult at first but your stomach and body will adjust and you will actually require less food to feel satisfied. Call me a conspiracy theorist but I enjoy knowing that my body can go days without food just in case there was ever a zombie apocalypse.

 Just Kidding. Or am I?

I will definitely plan better next time, I will make sure my life is partially boring and I have the time to really dedicate to the detox because I know it could be life-changing. I will start putting money aside the month prior to beginning again, and I would actually like to incorporate my Black Obsidian Yoni Egg with the detox; I kicked myself for not thinking of this sooner! Blasphemy.
